All these who were chosen to be gatekeepers in the gates were two hundred and twelve. These were recorded by their genealogy in their villages, whom David and Samuel the seer did ordain in their office of trust.

the son, which shall be born to thee, shall be a most quiet man: for I will make him rest from all his enemies round about: and for this cause, he shall be called (a) Peaceable: and I will give peace and quietness in Israel all his days. (a) Salomon signifies Peaceable, and therein, as in many other things, prefigured Christ who amongst other names is called, Prince of peace. Isai. 9.
