And how can Christ be called a mere man? on the contrary, being made one with the Word, He is with reason called Christ and Son of God, the prophet having long since loudly and clearly ascribed the Father’s subsistence to Him; for when He had fulfilled His promise, He shewed, as was suitable, that He was He whom He said He had sent.

Here he speaks of the Resurrection, obscurely. For those are indeed times of consolaton, which Paul also looked for, when he said, “We that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burthened.” (2 Cor. v. 4.)
