Whoever goes beyond, and abides not in the doctrine of Christ, has not God. He that abides in the doctrine of Christ, he has both the Father and the Son.

Whosoever goeth back, &c. The Greek is παζαβαινιν, i.e, who transgresses. The Syriac reads, he who passes by, and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ, has not God for his friend.
