And one of them named Caiaphas, being the high priest that same year, said unto them. While the rest were consulting and not grasping the case nor finding what it was needful to do, Caiaphas as high priest proffers advice, and clearly defines the matter. But one of them, named Caiphas, being the high priest He said not this, says the evangelist, of himself, but as the high priest of that year.
